Black Tie Casual Look

Good morning my lovely readers😊, before talking about today’s I would like to share one of my favourites quotes by Theodore Roosevelt: “In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.” Hope you all started this new week on a hope-filled note if not, don’t be discouraged it will all work out for good keep your trust in God and let him sort things out for you. As for you just do your best and be happy; just don’t do nothing.

On today’s look, I decided to try something new but that would still keep me warm since Nakuru has decided to cool time for us 😰. I decide to play along with the contracts: official and casual look in one take. So I decided to go with turned up black denim jeans, a cotton/polyester hoodie vest, an official white blouse which I accessorized with a black tie a pair of polka dotted black and white sneakers. I opted for a black beanie hat as a headgear and a pink lipstick to add to the luminous green colour on the inside part of the hoodie.

In the Red Skater Dress Spell ;-)

Good Tuesday morning my lovely readers,

At times am sure I have gotten the hang of my life then something comes up and I notice I still have much to learn. It’s all good though am sure that son all be a pro at all this realities that were once beautiful dreams, otherwise hope you are all well.

Due to the latest developments, today’s OOTD is on this red dress I took shots of a while ago. I am a fan of a skater outfit (cos they kind of give that feeling of ‘young and free’ :-)) but I love this dress more cos of it’s red pigment. This look in sandals for me equals young, wild and free. Off the emotional part now, I love how the designer in-cooperated the collar and pockets designs on this dress (just works perfectly). Since I was going for a casual relaxed look, this pair of sandals acted a as a superb complementary wear (The hem line too contributed to the choice of shoes though). 🙂

On a Casual Look

Every breath is a reason to try, to fight, to live with hope of better and more. Never lose hope; as long as you can close your eyes a night to sleep you are strong enough to make any of your wishes come true. Never lose the person you were meant to be to fear and uncertainty, nothing is certain until it’s done so do it and find out what your fears were keeping you from.

Good morning amazing human beings, hope you have been well I have missed you big these past few days. For those who have been asking am doing much better today than yesterday.

On to the outfit of the day loves it’s an all casual look. I once said I love long distance traveling in denim especially when am sure am using the public means of transport. On this day I went for this ripped pair of jeans a printed vest and a brown leather jacket. I was running some errand so I went for these maroon sneakers as footwear. I accessorized the look with a pendant necklace. Am currently on a natural hair do so I sported a shade of blue hair wrap as a hair accessory. This look is preferable for a normal outdoor day as for me I felt like I needed a motor bike on this day as a complementary :-).

Dressing for the Cold Season 2 (Turtle Neck)

Hi loves,

I am kind of battling with a stubborn cold kindly remember me in your prayers dears.

Once upon a time in a class room I was taught this one thing; when you cover up the neck, the whole torso is assured of warmth. So if you have a turtle neck in your wardrobe dears don’t be shy to use tit as a fashion weapon against this nasty cold. You can accessorise your turtle neck with a long chain, pendant or be playful enough and try out with different types of statement necklaces.  In my case, this black nicely fitted long-sleeved dress has a turn up turtle neck which is warm enough for this weather. I decided to accessorise it with my rope beaded black and white necklace. I went for these knee high black boots to keep my feet warm too.

A scarf is another great alternative for necklines that are not raised for this weather. Go for a heavily knitted scarf.

Rocking the Shirt Dress

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I love a rainy night so automatically I slept like a baby. Hope you had a peaceful night all. Waking up to a drizzling morning, perhaps this is the weather that will be gracing our calendars hence forth but oh well lets wait and see.

On the last post I hinted about new things coming and by next week I will reveal what am talking about in the mean time loves lets talk about this shirt dress (Am glad I wore it before the cold season knocked and entered). I decided to sport it with a pair of skinny jeans which I gave a turn up to keep it fresh hehe. There’s so much I love about this shirt dress starting with the fact that it’s a pastel pink, the weight, (it’s cotton light which makes it perfect for hot sunny day), it’s sleeveless design, and let’s not forget that it is oversize (aka bonus :-)). I was feeling really colourful with this outfit so I got a bit playful with my hair by adding a bit of colourful beads. On the hair for those who have been asking, the braid (name) is PONY CURL long.

You can wear a shirt dress without plain, with a pair of shorts, leggings, or with skinny jeans like me… hehe :-). So guys what is your favourite shirt dress look? Here I rocked a shirt dress with knee high boots!

The Brown Dress Affair

Life is best lived when it comes in form of a surprise. That is my point of view. As much as I like planning my life and hoping my planned best to be my tomorrow, I love life more when tomorrow is just the surprise I needed but didn’t know. Hi everyone, in the words of Wayne Gretzky, “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

Every outfit communicates something that’s why we have uniforms and dress codes. On my part every outfit is like a role am given to play in this world. If am in a dress I feel and become too lady like. My walk changes, my strides differ from when am in jeans. It happens too with shoes. You will notice this if you take a good look at my different posts (I pose differently depending on how am dressed hehe (comes naturally though).

This brown dress brought out the diva and I just love its design (got it while thrift shopping and regrets don’t count even at zero). I decided to sport it with my strapped heels and because of the side cut outs; I wore my luminous green top inside. I accessorized it with a choker as the last bite of elegance.

I love white but I somehow tend to love myself more anytime I am in blue. Don’t know if you are like me and have that colour that brings out the best of you 😉

My outfit of the day is smart casual street style simplicity. I paired up a fitting white T-shirt with my blue jeans. I just find the combination very simple, chic and clean. The three words just make me feel coooool… 🙂 I accessorized the look with my V-shape design necklace and nude flats. To keep the coolness in check I took it a notch higher with my cool sunglasses 😉.

Culotte in Time

Hi guys, so sometimes back in my campus days I used to sell clothes straight from Gikomba. By the way thanks to the class of 2010 and 2011 fashion Design and Marketing Kenyatta University (its fun remembering that venture of my life). Among the things I got to purchase was this culotte. Just found it by chance but i will definitely wear it again after this 😉

I decided to sport it with this floral top and layer up with my denim jacket. I went with the wooden blocks and my fedora hat as the cherry needed for this piece of cake 😉

Animal Prints on My Skirt

Life is full of surprises and the best way to embrace them is not by retracing their origin but living the moment. My week started in a puzzling way and this day amazed more (am not complaining the though 🙂 ). Hope your week is going in the happy note direction too.

Today I happened to listen to one great inspirational speaker and the one thing that got me most was his view on PURPOSE. Let your purpose in life be that one thing or two that makes you happy. It can be hard to achieve unrealistic to others, cliche’ to some but as long as it quenches your heart thirst go for it and let God be your guide. All the best to those who are up on this trail! You will make it!

Today’s outfit is on this animal print I styled up with a simple T-shirt which I ended up accessorizing with a beaded necklace that i folded cos I preferred it this way than it’s original length. To give this look an official feel you can add a blazer on or wear it with a blouse instead of a T-shirt. I accompanied this outfit with my black ankle boots and my black pair of socks.. ;-).
